Final Boss

*Static flashes across the screen before giving way to the inside of the WWX locker room. The room is empty, with the only presence being that of a few miscellaneous black folding chairs. The lockers themselves are empty, and the only light in the room comes from a flood light overhead.*

*There is the sound of a door being unlocked, followed by the lights fully turning on. The room, now bathed in a warm glow, now carries the sound of footsteps. Sure enough, shortly after the lights come on, Syndicate walks into view. He is dressed in his usual attire of white leather jacket, black undershirt, worn-down blue jeans, and black Nike tennis shoes. In his right hand, he carries a gray duffel bag, and over his left shoulder sits the WWX Undisputed World Heavyweight Championship.*

Syndicate: *sigh*

*The champion looks around at the room surrounding him before dropping his bag onto the ground and taking a seat in a chair near it. He swings the championship off of his shoulder and props it up in a nearby locker, marking his territory.*

Syndicate: You ever watch Cops? I used to watch it all the time as a kid. The part that always stuck out at me was the disclaimer; specifically, the part where the announcer's like, "All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.". That's how I feel right now. You would not believe the amount of heat I've been getting about Jake Devine's interference in my match with Krimzon Blaze this past week. You know, I think by this point that my hatred for Jake Devine has been well documented. So, logical viewer, let me ask you a question: why the hell would I ally myself with HIM, of all people, to take down Krimzon Blaze when I obviously didn't need the help?

*He shakes his head.*

Syndicate: I don't know what the hell that man was doing, and frankly, I don't care. The important thing is that we've moved on from Fury, Krimzon Blaze lost his opportunity, and it's finally time to focus on the big one: my match with Darkness at World Series. You know, this match has been a long time coming - hell, we signed the contract for it MONTHS ago. And, sure, enough, here we are on the Road to Hall of Pain, ready to clash once and for all.

*Syndicate chuckles as he rests his elbows on his knees, leaning towards the camera slightly.*

Syndicate: Darkness...I've been waiting for this moment for a long damn time. Back when I first came into the WWX, you were the International Champion. I watched as you put on a damn fine show at Two Front War 2013 - "watched" being the key word. You see, Darkness, I wasn't booked on that pay-per-view. I wasn't booked the next month either. No, it took until a battle royal as part of Final Countdown for me to actually get a spot on the card. So, yeah, I sat at home, WATCHING you, wanting to be you. To me, you were one of the "final bosses" - one of the men that I would one day have to beat to reach the upper echelon of the WWX.

*He smirks.*

Syndicate: But then you disappeared - no, actually, that's not accurate. Rather, you faded in and out of existence, appearing and disappearing on WWX television whenever you so wished. But while you were away...I was taking over. I carved a niche in the WWX so deep that I BECAME the WWX. I'M the final boss now, Darkness, and now it's you back on the bottom, trying to grasp the spotlight once more. But that's not going to happen, Darkness. It's time for you to become your name and fade away into oblivion.

*The Los Angeles Outlaw takes off his leather jacket and hangs it up on a hook inside a locker behind him.*

Syndicate: I am undefeated at World Series, and except for a dubiously-legitimate loss at the hands of Krimzon Blaze, I have been undefeated since Aftershock in February. I don't care what it takes, and I don't care what I have to do. I am Sydney Maxwell Irvine, I am your Undisputed Heavyweight Champion of the World, and I intend on keeping it that way. You can try all you want, Darkness. You can put me in all the submissions you want. You can hit me with your most powerful moves. But I'll still survive. I'll still kick out. And I'll still have enough energy to hit you with one more No Signal.

Syndicate: I am the champion because I have earned it. You haven't earned shit besides winning the Crusade Cup, which I do commend you for. But beyond that...all I see you for is another challenger that has to be dealt with. Darkness, picture World Series like you're walking into hell itself to face off against Lucifer, because that's essentially what you're doing. You're going to be facing the master of his craft in front of 13,000 screaming WWX fans in Dublin that are all on his side. You're going to be going up against the champion of the f'n WORLD. I hope you're strapped in, Darkness, because fighting the final boss is never easy. I guarantee you that you won't win this one. Welcome to the Syndicate.

*Syndicate flashes his signature smile, and as he does, the screen immediately switches back to static.*
